I was recently on the Podcast, “The Clock Work Junkie” with Mark McCormack. Mark asked me, “would you be able to put a date on the last time in your research that a woman was a priest?”

The Most Famous Women Priest in the Catholic Church.

It turns out that Mark’s question involves the most famous Woman Priest in our Catholic Church’s history, that being Mary Mother of God, otherwise known as Mary Priest.  She actually was a woman Priest until the year 1927, when the hierarchy of this Church forbade any further devotion to Mary Priest. This last statement I made is truly astonishing. I can only imagine that for so many reading this truth, might seem totally impossible or maybe downright unbelievable. You might be in shock, or disbelief, thinking this just can’t be so. I know my Church history and there never were any women priests including Mary Mother. We all, no matter what faith denomination, learn that faith’s traditions, for the most part, from our family and our respective Church. You very well believe you know without question that the idea of Women Priests let alone Mary Mother of God, being a Priest can’t be so. Why? You would confidently assert my parents would have told me, or my Church has told me this simply isn’t true.

Moving Beyond Your Own Church Lying to You

How does one begin to take in their own betrayal of trust by their own Church? For myself, it was personally very painful indeed. The question which immediately surfaced in my mind was, what is behind their lie? What are they hiding, that is making them continue to lie to any Catholic women whether in the United States or worldwide today? Previously, I could never understand why the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, would never acknowledge their Church’s past history? For that to actually happen would involve them telling the true past history of women’s religious roles in our Church. This centuries-old scandal of lies. Deceit and cover-up deserve no place in our Church today. If Jesus, had no room for the Scandal of Lies, Deceit, and Cover-up, then why does our current hierarchy continue down this shady path?
