I was pleased to welcome back Julie Hannah as a return guest on Your Radical Truth Podcast. Julie, a former agnostic, initially set out to discredit the Christian message in her first book, A Skeptic’s Investigation into Jesus. Yet, her extensive research revealed the complete opposite of what she expected. This profound discovery about Jesus inspired her to write a second book, The Seventh Covenant, in which she shares her newfound understanding and hopes to convey the story of Jesus Christ to others.
I asked Julie if there was one discovery, amid all her research for both books, that truly resonated with her and deeply moved her. She responded, “My discovery of Christ was so moving, so powerful. I felt surrounded by something incredibly personal, something revelatory.” She described it as an immersive experience of Jesus sharing His words for the first time—a unique way of conveying His message and the unmistakable power of His presence. Julie also spoke about “seeing Jesus afresh, rather than through the lens of what we’ve learned about Him over time.”
I echoed how exhilarating it must have been for her, through extensive research, to come to the beautiful conclusion of Jesus’ presence. Julie’s joy and excitement were evident as she recalled that pivotal moment of realizing Jesus’ presence in her life was real—not simply a collection of fabricated stories. She emphasized that for those who dismiss Jesus, it’s worth noting that the Old Testament lays a strong foundation for how He fulfilled prophecies, complementing the New Testament’s narrative of His life 2,000 years ago.
After hearing Julie’s powerful, joyful discovery of God, it struck me as a reminder for so many Christians: Jesus’ presence can easily be overlooked as we navigate life, seeking answers from other people or things. Many take His monumental presence in their lives for granted. Reconnect with Jesus to experience His genuinely loving and caring presence anew in your own life.
