On the Podcast, Three Things I’ve learned with Susan Dolci, she conveyed a story about her going to a Catholic School and having a Sister who was her favorite teacher. It turned out that this Religious Sister did something both unique and unheard of for so many Catholics today. She became a Roman Catholic Woman Priest. After reading this sentence you might seem shocked, or to say the least, very confused. Many might think, how could this be true? How can you even say something like that when it is a complete lie? We know it is definitely a lie because our Catholic Church Hierarchy has told us the truth of this matter that there never were Women Priests in the history of our Church.
Roman Catholic Womenpriests – USA
The Roman Catholic Priests Organization of Today, referred to above, is an international organization. Back in 2002, there were seven women from the countries of, the US, Austria, and Germany who were ordained as either women priests or as a woman bishop. This was conducted on a boat on the Danube river and thus the name the Danube 7 arose. The ordinations of these women were presided over by a Roman Catholic bishop which meant that these ordinations were official. But more importantly to any women bishop ordained in this ordination, she can follow a church tradition term, ‘Apostolic Succession’, there is a spiritual origin going back to the apostles, meaning that this woman Catholic bishop, can herself now ordain other women to the priesthood.
Roman Catholic Women Priests Is Already A Reality
While I was on Susan Dolci’s Show, speaking about the early presence of women in religious roles in the early history of our Church, a thought came to my mind. The reality today is, we have through Roman Catholic Women Priests, a special glance into our Catholic Church’s future of not only what could be, but what should be happening right now within our Catholic Church in the United States and World-Wide!
