For as long as I can remember, I’ve been compelled to raise awareness about the inequities women face within religious leadership. This work is not optional for me; it’s my life’s calling. Women have been silenced, excluded, and overlooked for far too long in spaces where their voices are needed the most. Now is not the time for a dim light—it’s time to shine a floodlight on the systemic exclusion of women from the priesthood.
This is a pivotal moment. Society is shifting toward greater inclusivity in many areas, yet religious institutions remain among the slowest to embrace change. The call for equality in spiritual leadership is growing louder every day, and I believe we must respond with courage, clarity, and relentless action.
Through my podcast, Your Radical Truth, I’ve had the privilege of amplifying voices that are making a difference in this movement. Guests like Father Anne, an outspoken advocate for women’s ordination, Reverend Maura Bernard, who shared her journey of spiritual leadership, and Reverend Shanon Sterringer, have shared powerful insights and personal stories that inspire and inform. These conversations remind us that change is possible when we come together to challenge outdated norms and shine a light on injustice.
The issue of women in the priesthood isn’t just about fairness; it’s about unlocking the full potential of faith communities. By continuing to exclude women, we are depriving religious institutions of the richness that comes from diverse leadership.
But this work requires more than conversations—it demands action. Whether it’s engaging in community dialogue, supporting those who advocate for change, or simply being willing to listen and learn, every step moves us closer to a future where women are fully recognized as spiritual leaders.
